HOW MUCH PAIN MEDICATION IS TO MUCH BEFORE IT IS CONSIDERED AN ADDICTION?

Question by Suzi♥Bℓu:
How significantly anguish medication is to a lot prior to it is thought to be an addiction?

My mother has been suffering from rheumatoid arthritis for years. As she gets older totally nothing appears to actually relieve the discomfort. She has tried each thing from aspirin to Embrel with out much good results.

About 6 months ago her physician prescribed Norco, or the generic Hydrocodone-APAP ten/325. She will take 3 to 4 Norco a day, depending on her arthritis pain, even though the prescription grants her to take up to six a day. This is the 1st medication that truly has offered her true anguish relief in years.

Considering that she is feeling greater, her moods have enhanced and she also has turn out to be much more active on a daily basis. My concern is that hydrocodone can be really addictive. I guess my question is, truly how significantly hydrocodone does she have to take ahead of she becomes addicted, or is she on a protected dose? Or, perhaps addiction is a much superior alternative than the pain of rheumatoid arthritis?

Thanks in advance for your responses!!

She is secure with the quantity she is taking. Just have her drink lots of water as with most anguish durgs they are tough on the liver and kidneys. Now if she starts to take up to six a day and nonetheless finds no relief then it is time to taper off if them and attempt a thing else.

I feel your pain, no pun truly intended. My husband lost his leg due to blood clots (happened young for him) and no quantity of medication they gave him in the hospital genuinely helped him. Truth is that there is a lot to pain that the big docs do not know and it is not a 1 size fits all type of point. Funny but genuine story. I was sleeping more than in the waiting space of the hospital when my husband was getting treated for this condition. They gave him so significantly drugs he was higher as a kite and believed his roomie’s toe was a remote manage for the Tv and was pulling on it. He brought a coffee pot with him (severe caffeine addict) and wanted to make a pot a coffee and watch TV at three AM. I got woken up by a nurse and asked if I could help him effectively act much less crazy. I cradled his head in my arms and stated, “child just lay down for a minute. Do this for me.” and he mentioned okay & fell proper to sleep. It was, truthfully, a sacred moment for me, as I realized I had this strange energy more than him that the nursing staff did not have. My husband did have withdrawal troubles from the drugs they gave him but he soldier thru them and got off all of them. He is allergic to codene so I actually can’t comment on that distinct drug but pharmaceutical drugs can totally be addictive.

Perhaps you should appear at alternative medicine for the discomfort. I have heard excellent points about acupuncture. Great luck. I hope your mother finds the medicine or remedies that work but if her moods & pain are lessened maybe this is the appropriate drug for her? Truthfully can’t state because living in anguish is no joke.

Im going through the very same factor myself correct now…i have suffered for 4 years with 2 herniated discs topped off by arthritus…i am 45…i went for years with no prescrribed anguish meds other than voltaran which didnt work for me,so my physician gave me the oxycodone to begin off about a year ago…i am on 3 to three and 1/two pills a day, they are the 5mg tablets.I fought taking them for about 8 months until finally lastly the anguish created me try them…i was astonished at the distinction in how i felt,i had actually forgot how it felt to feel typical yet again most days. I am still on the three to 3 and 1/2 a day right after 1 year due to my fear of addcition as ive personally witnessed the addiction in two family members, one particular has a legit reason for making use of them the other did not,but never the less it taught me to treat the drug with respect though i do fight the fear everyday, when in a while i wll lower my dosage for days jsut to be secure and make sure im okay. I talked to my doc about fears and like she stated, what selection do you have at this point? living i anguish and not undertaking standard issues isnt excellent either,so i guess its secure as lengthy is its monitored and your conscious of what can occur, she also says there is addiction and there is physical dependancy…very same result jsut a different reason. So i truly wouldnt worry about your Mom,she is getting her pain relieved and getting close to once more and thats a big thing, feeling like element of the human race yet again,i know it all as well properly. My daughter had the identical fears as you are acquiring due to her fiance becoming an addict about 3 years ago,it destroyed thier lives and they parted, but he didnt want them he selected to take them…massive distinction, but she nonetheless doesnt like the pills at all but comprehends i am really careful. Well i hope some of this assists you with your concerns, its a difficult option, feel me, i was so unhappy missing out on doing things i utilized to really like to do,walking my dog, playing with my relatives little ones, getting an intimate romantic relationship, the list is endless,so attempt to remember your Mother wants the meds and is back to enjoying herself once again, maybe you should go with her to her up coming Dr. appt and speak about it with them also,it might aleviate some of your fears.

Q&A: CAN MIGRAINE HEADACHES MAKE SOMEONE PERMANENTLY BLIND?

Question by =)♡:
Can migraine headaches make somebody permanently blind?

I last on a regular basis from migraine headaches with aura (I go blind for about twenty minutes and then my vision returns when the headache begins..) I have just been googling migraine on the intenret and have study that it can make somebody permenantly blind, and can increase the threat of strokes and coma. Is this accurate? I am panicking now due to the fact I last from migraines at least twice a week.

Answer by Jennifer
Nicely, you really should have went to the emergency space when this occurred.I’m talking about going blind for a total of 20 minutes.
I know that if I had a migraine(which I have),and went entirely blind for any amount of time…I would clearly go straight to the emergency room…every time that would happen.
And,seeing how you have this take place 2 times a week, and go blind 2 times a week….surly you see your medical doctor,or go proper to the emergency room when this occurs.
This is my recommendations to you. When this happens…go directly to the emergency space to be evaluated as soon as possible.And,also….see your physician in reference to going blind each time you have a migraine…2 times a week.

Answer by John Stewart
I can not completely answer your question, but I have had migraines for at least 40 years, but not near as typically as you have. I also have the auras, but mine start like a modest location close to the center of my vision that increases in size as it progresses, and it is outlined somewhat with sparkles. I never have been fully blind, but I also have had components of my body go numb, have temporary memory loss, and as soon as I was unable to recognize what I was reading – I could study the words, but I did not know what the meant. Its like a temporary stroke. The great point is that so far these symptions have usually been temporary. I am a individual of far superior than average intelligence, and a prodigious thinker which annoys me at times. This kind of migraine that we each have is called “classic migraine”. My migraines typically are induced by food problems like monosodium glutamate, too considerably gluten (in cookies, breads, and so forth.), caffeine, too considerably physical anxiety, also considerably emotional stress, just about something that messes with a persons nervous method (that jacks it up). I would advise a medical physician that is nicely versed in treatment for migraines. Even so, I have been undertaking self treatment for years with some final results. You ought to find a physician! The symtoms generally go away, but if I had migraines twice a week, I would become agressive about in search of much more assist soon. I realize what you are going via. Most folks that do not have migraines, just do not understand when you tell about your headaches. John.
